My Background
My career began in healthcare, where I trained and worked as a nurse before moving into roles within international development and community health. Over the years, I have worked extensively with vulnerable communities across countries including Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen, Botswana, Mongolia and Ghana, meeting my husband and bringing up our two daughters along the way.
My experiences naturally led me into communications, PR and event management roles, where clear, effective messaging became central to my work.
Editing has been a consistent thread throughout my career — from research papers and policy documents to health education and training materials, proposals, reports and publications — eventually leading me to establish my own editorial business.
Volunteer work in the community has always been important to me, most recently in Bahrain, where I volunteered as a domestic abuse advocate as well as working with the local Migrant Workers Protection Society supporting migrant welfare and advocacy.
When not working, I enjoy a spot of gardening, paddle boarding, the odd theatre excursion, attempting to collate my extensive photo collections, and walking our golden retriever (a lot!).
Why I Do This Work
After many years working in demanding, fast-paced roles, I wanted to build something more sustainable — work that allowed me to slow down, focus, and bring real care to what I do.
Editing felt like a natural progression. It brings together my experience, my attention to detail, and my interest in how people communicate ideas.
I genuinely enjoy working with a wide range of subjects and clients, and there is something incredibly rewarding about helping a piece of writing become clearer, stronger and more confident — while still feeling entirely true to the person who wrote it.
